Re: Oolite 2.0 or II
Not quite. XS is, yes. But for the others, the idea is that they are introduced when the player has the ability/equipment to cope with them, so that the end is not a long-drawn out "1", but that there are occasional überships (they are occasional, yes?) Fair point but then the more you ad...

Re: Yamiks (popular Elite streamer/YouTuber) has a video up about Oolite
think my fer-de-lance wiki page needs a new review added - "oh my god it's so shit" i think it was  FWIW, I think your later fdl models are pretty cool... which isn't easy given they inherited the oolite 'block of cheddar' shape rather than the elite 'stilletto'. It's hard not to be ...

Re: Oolite 2.0 or II
This (to me) seems to be concerned with the "end-game" Yep. And I've never gotten that far, myself! But to me there seem to exist various fixes for this concern within the galaxy of the Oolite oxp's. All of your suggestions however are contrary to this: Terris is an example of a game that...

Re: HUD elements: which are essential, delightful, superfluous?
If it's not too late to contribute, or at least to ask a semi-relevant question... Once the HUD displays enough for basic navigation (scanner & compass) and combat (sights + energy gauges, missiles) then it's good to go. Even showing laser temperature or fuel is of limited use (granted, the latt...

Re: Demand Driven Economy OXZ
v 1.4 available further boosted number of f7 descriptions up to approx 120 Nite Owl sent me some ideas with regards to possible improvements and although I've yet to adopt any of them that doesn't mean that I haven't taken inspiration from them... With more variability around the f7 screen descript...

Re: Jane's Galactic Shipset (6th ed. 3225 pub.) OXP
Just came across another intriguing Aegidianistical tweak (Fer de Lance): Classic Elite FdL: staff 12, cargo 2TC Oolite FdL: staff 12 (unstated), cargo 12TC Yes, and it was quite a clever one in that it meant there could be two passenger cabins in addition to the canonical elite cargo hold. The spa...

Re: Musings for v.1.92
The crew of 12 on the FdL is intriguing: butler, valet, cooks, footmen, chambermaids, parlourmaids, stillroom maids, pages etc , one presumes. So what is going on when the bounty hunters take one over? Bags of free space for cargo canisters? Or just empty disused servant's quarters gathering dust a...

Re: Musings for v.1.92
Ahah! So you have a periscope mounted on your FdL Lightspeeder! I'd always wondered... If by that you mean a flawless, precision instrument, the construction of which meaning each individual component being asigned to a master of their craft, painstakingly deliberated over, each taking no less than...

Re: Musings for v.1.92
The viewscreen is presumably an enhanced camera view from the outside anyway. So one would expect the sun's glare to be toned down a bit. I've always thought that... windows are cool you don't want a tech failure that could deprive you of a front viewscreen therefore windows And even if you want to...

Re: Musings for v.1.92
How about suns (ignore the flare) with "textures" as in this: I genuinely don't know the answer to the following questions but... Wouldn't a sol like star be so bright as to make such detail undiscernable? There must be a filter of some kind on the viewscreen (or prior) just to look at th...
