Re: Science Fiction Trivia

Just UNEXA left now, and another clue - the author is British and ISN'T W.E. Johns. Another clue - it isn't the Kemlo series. Another clue - In later books of the series a pair of telepathic twins are used to communicate with exploratory spaceships; one aboard the ship, the other staying on Earth. ...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

If I remember ELE is from on of the astroid diaster movies (maybe called asteroid?) and it was something like Estinguising Life Event. I'm going to call this a near miss - it was an asteroid film, but not Asteroid , and you have one word and part of another correct. Since you've made it too easy fo...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

Yes - but what is the acronym in the name {HYDRA}, if any? I have a very vague memory from reading the comics in the 1970s that there was an acronym, but I'll be bowdlerised if I can remember what. There is a faint bell that there were several acronyms (or backronyms), but I may be projecting from ...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

1/6 was easy, there aren't that many books like that. Which gives you either Babel 17 or The Ballad of Beta-2 as the answer to number 2, and Babel 17 is a fairly important work while The Ballad of Beta-2 is pretty minor, and there are WAY too many groups with a 2 in the name. I could only find two g...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

OK, number 3 is is the rock group Heaven 17 - there's at least one other with 17 in the name, but this is the right one for various reasons. Correct! One MBP to ffutures, and one question to go. OK... For no. 4, the film is A Clockwork Orange . In the music shop scene in ACO there's a moment when A...
