Re: speeding up gameplay

Give VARIABLE MASSLOCK or MASSLOCK COMPENSATOR a try. Fuel Injectors also help to rocket past those pesky Masslocks if you do not mind spending the Witchspace Fuel. Changing your approach angle to the ship(s) that are putting you in a Masslock is also a viable strategy. Instead of coming at them hea...

Re: Eye candy OXZ's?

Since we are discussing buoys, their integration into things, and modified licenses has anybody thought of an update to BUOY REPAIR using Cmd. Cheyd's excellent buoy. Had a look at it myself but such a project would be a bit beyond my coding skills plus most of my time is not my own these days. Not ...

Re: [WIP] GalCop Missions

The risk/reward balance for the Satellite Mission is spot on. Large amounts of credits are always welcome. This is especially true for this mission given that you have to scoot from planet to planet within a system in a 5 minute time frame. That time frame requirement forces you to ignore all other ...

Re: [WIP] GalCop Missions

Now that the forum is back up and running well enough to read and post let me thank you phkb for your fix to the satellite mission. During the forum downtime this mission was run by me very successfully with a large number of credits as a reward. Thanks again for keeping us entertained.

Re: [WIP] GalCop Missions

A mission type that was previously unseen by me cropped up; Defend Satellites. The first satellite to defend was at another planet about 7000 kilometers away from the Main Station. Arrival was made in under the 5 minute attack limit by using my Torus Drive and avoiding combat on the way there. Once ...

Re: Unable to access saved commanders

One of the things that needs full control is labeled as System . Does System also have Read and Write Permissions? System relates to your Operating System - How Windows deals with files and folders. How to add System and the Read and Write Permissions to the Permissions lists (if they are not alread...

Re: Unable to access saved commanders

Have another idea as to what might be happening. The problem is in the execution of the explanation. My trying to tell you how to fix the problem is going to get extremely complicated and my fear is that we will both get lost in the translation. Your best bet is that once my theory is given that you...

Re: Unable to access saved commanders

Go to C:\Oolite\oolite.app\GNUstep\Defaults or the directory similar to this for your installation of the game. Open the file named .GNUstepDefaults in a text editor other than Windows Notepad - Notepad++ is a good option. Inside .GNUstepDefaults should be a line that points to your save game direct...

Re: (WIP) Hermitage

Really liking what has been presented so far. Looking forward to a working model whenever possible. Please let me know if the following scenario fits in with what you have in mind. On my third trip around the eight the endless wandering starts to wear a little thin. Time to find a good group of syst...

Geez - No wonder it would not work for me, left out almost every step. Thank you again for both the update and the scripting lesson, much appreciated.

Re: HyperCargo OXP

Actually you should thank Spara, the creator of the Market Observer OXZ. He is the one who gave me the above answer when asked the same question, by me, about a year and half ago. This may be a single player game but we are all in it together.

Re: Maintenance upon demmand

The same one that is already sent when you do a Maintenance Overhaul would be fine. The two (overhaul and tune up) do basically the same thing so there is no need to come up with a whole new piece of script and descriptors just for the tune up. Is there a way to get the tune up script to call the ne...

Re: Maintenance upon demmand

phkb: Could you post a simple (or even not so simple) bit of script that would allow a purchased Maintenance Tune Up to send a Maintenance Email from your Email System OXZ. Had a look at it myself but my script-fu is weak in this area, never have done any work wherein one JavaScript had to call on t...

Re: HyperCargo OXP

Taka: Ran into the same problem a while back. The Trader Rating is a function of the Market Observer OXZ. The two OXZ's are incompatible in that the Trader Rating function has no way of reading cargo that is placed into HyperCargo and thus returns with the lost cargo thing lowering your Trader Ratin...

Re: Oolite Combat

Notepad leaves extra white space behind that can mess a script up. Give NOTEPAD++ a try. Simple learning curve and free.
