Unrooted Timers and Garbage Collection
Been getting a bunch of these lately. 14:32:09.262 [script.javaScript.unrootedTimer]: ----- WARNING: Timer <OOJSTimer 0x1be6b5f0>{nextTime: 1674.12, one-shot, running, function: anonymous} is being garbage-collected while still running. You must keep a reference to all running timers, or they will s...

Deadpool, in either the movies or the comics. Breaking the "fourth wall" is a good indicator of literary self realization.

Re: Science Fiction Trivia
DREAMSCAPE from 1984 is the most obvious answer. There is a very similar film answer that is more modern, was more expensive to make, and much more confusing but that is best left for someone else's entry.

Re: Griff's Glowroids
You are most welcome. Have gotten fairly good with .plist(s) but still cannot get a JavaScript going from scratch. Spent the past few days trying to write one that would change the Lollipop colors on the Scanner. Failed miserably once the realization hit me that such a script would need a Timer in o...

Colossus and Guardian Colossus is a computer built to control the nuclear capability of the United States by Dr. Charles Forbin and his team. Colossus detects and communicates with an equivalent computer in the Soviet Union called Guardian. The two computers merge and take control of the human race...

( { class = misc; description = "Like rocky asteroids, ice asteroids (icesteroids) are found throughout space."; ship = "griff_ice_asteroid_1"; summary = "Natural body"; } ) Your problem is with the [ship =] line. It must match exactly the primary (top) key (name) for ...

Great stuff - very funny. A few suggested additions. "bird-messages" "Oh, Willow, Titwillow, Titwillow." (From Gilbert and Sullivan's Mikado ) "Preening in public is highly discouraged." "feline-messages" "Scent marking in public will not be tolerated unl...

Re: How to cross VOIDS in Oolite!
What misjump recovery technique are you using? I believe the most important part is fuel, so how to obtain that in interstellar space? Apart from carrying the Pylon Mounted Fuel Tanks mentioned in previous posts INTERSTELLAR HELP probably has the most comprehensive and reliable methods for getting ...

Did not want to be the first to answer once again so played the waiting game, but will, once again, pick the low hanging fruit.

Re: Science Fiction Trivia
Not quite as obscure as originally thought. The Chalice is yours although you should be made aware of the Dinosaur drool that has accumulated in it during this round. Been told that it adds a slightly tangy taste to any Poison present. A good cleaning might be in order before the next round just to ...

Close, but no cigar. The writer of this one is not as famous as Ray Bradbury but was equally prolific.

Re: Science Fiction Trivia
Been rereading a lot of my ancient paperback sci-fi anthologies lately. The kind with the yellowed pages, that old paper smell, and brittle paper so fragile that you have to be careful as you turn the page lest it comes free from the book's spine. Despite the description the anthology in question is...

Re: Retexture OXPs and their place
This will probably only add to the fire but here goes. This can be either a replacement set or an add on set with a bit of a TWEAK. It does not appear on the page you linked to for some reason but does take advantage of the latest graphic improvements to Oolite. ANOTHER COMMANDER'S & GRIFF'S SHI...
