Re: SW Economy
Medicines would possibly be the one major export of Mainly agricultural/Mainly industrial economies! They have both the agriculture and the industry to produce complex medicines (if they have the requisite TL). Sounds reasonable. It will explain success of systems with balanced economy. Not having ...

Re: 60 years ago - Yuri Gagarin's flight
I was too young in this April day 60 years ago to have personal memories - just six and half month old.
Space was a part of fun in my life later.
And now I hope to live till first man on Mars.

60 years ago - Yuri Gagarin's flight
I have personal habit to celebrate Yuri's flight at April 11, not 12.
In April 11 he wasn't world hero - just unknown Russian young military pilot selected for dangerous mission.

Re: Perseverance has landed!
Hi-res pictures available for free public access are TIFF, not RAW, so me think some color adjustment was done in any case during conversion of original RAW images. If you are interesting in REAL color of martian landscapes and sky, there is famous high-res panorama with parts of rover in field of v...

Re: Government Types (anarchy/corporate state etc)
I think you are confusing country name and political system. The label on the NK seat makes no claim about the political system at all, it is simply its name. Yes, but it's the name they've chosen, and it's a name that makes a claim … if I call myself "tall Bob", and I turn out to be 5'3&...

Re: Smallest planet
In first approximation surface gravity is in linear proportion with planet radius. (M ~ R^3, g ~ M * R^-2, -> g ~ R). So 2820/6378 = 0.442 g. In reality large planets tended to be more compressed, having more density and more mass. Mars for example has 3397 km radius (3397/6378 = 0.5325 R♁), but due...

Re: Smallest planet
This question needs some math. There is planet_distance parameter (distance from WP to planet centre) and station_vector parameter (station position relative to planet) in planetinfo.plist. So you need to calculate WP-station side of triangle. Top five systems sorted from longest planet_distance: Aa...

We are still far away from traffic jams on Mars surface, but we have again two rovers on Mars!
Hope Chinese rover will join this company soon
Nice work, NASA! Landing on Jezero's crater floor with hazardous terrain was not just repeating Curiosity's success.

But I’m already tired of the pop projects. What is wrong with "pop projects"? You don't know anything about Chang'e? Jeff Bezos plans of at least? About any other companies? I posted info about progress of Chang'e 5 mission in Roolite forum. Seems I know anything about Chang'e to make the...

No. What a shame!Cholmondely wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 10:06 am Have you ever been forced to end a relationship (or been dumped) because your partner couldn't understand your need to shout a "Right On Commander" during the crucial moment of intimacy?

Re: I'm an Oolite Cheat
Cheating in single-player game is controversial matter. You have no unfair advantage over any human player indeed – just unfair advantage over NPCs. It is only your decision is it acceptable for your game experience. Personally I prefer to play using more clever tactics, not overpowered weapons, avi...

Re: Religion page (Wiki)
Nice! Have you references to any sacred texts dealing with archaic gods - Bell & Braben? Worship of B & B is not prohibited in Ooniverse on official level, but seems it may be complex issue. Hierarchy of Lord Giles regarding to B & B? Some orthodox religions maybe, refusing holy nature o...
