What ever happened to X-Elite? I remember that when Oolite wasn't (or didn't appear to be) availble for the humble PC. X-Elite was ace, it was like The New Kind with go faster stripes!

Well, I'm lucky too (or my missus just puts up with it) especially when I start blathering on about Oolite (or the lovely HDR effects in Half Life, the atmosphere of Crysis etc.) In fact I'm one lucky person. She just bought me a lovely t-shirt with Optimus Prime on it.

Yes, you're right about Rafe and interstellar space. It's the concept I was thinking - that there are things outside of the space lanes. Ooo, and as an aside (I don't think I'm opening a can of worms). The interstellar space that Rafe's Anaconda was in isn't Witchspace is it? That's got to be differ...

RE: Background to Griff Krait. My 2cr worth (add to the background info if you wish). Some continuity errors may have to be ironed out though. I think it makes sense... Despite the banning of the Krait in 2998 GRL Further complications in the attempt to legitimise the Griff Krait as single pilot fig...

Also (using The Dark Wheel as a reference) wasn't Rafe's Anaconder situated in deep space (i.e. out of the space lanes) couldn't something like that be encountered (not his ship specifically though).

Absolutely. Deep space should be populated, but populated thinly. Personally I feel like I'm cheating a bit when you go out of the space lane and there's nothing to encounter (even in anarchies etc.). In old elite (Acorn Electron and Spectrum versions for me) I loved the sense of flying as far away ...

It's a shame that the space sim is a dying breed considering how well Eve is doing. The X series is good, but is a bit souless. I can't put my finger on it, but it seems to be missing something. Bought X3 a couple of months ago, played it for a while and then left it. Must return to it sometime. The...

Welcome to the boards. There are an enormous amount of OXPs to add (some are dependent on which galaxy you are in e.g. Assassins requires you to be in galaxy 7 - so don't add until you are in that galaxy). Also, OXPs do tend to eat memory, the more you add the more performance hit you'll take with y...

Sod realism. I want lots of stars! :D

Only joking! The new/improved backgrounds look awesome. Just when you think Oolite has gone as far as it can go it goes and puts on a pair of new trousers.

Kudos!

Trumbles This species deserves special mention as out of the millions of different species that populate the universe the Trumble is one of the most well known. Often seen as a pest and pet in equal measure these small creatures have a habit of infesting living space if not looked after in the corr...
