Re: Cloaking Device Vulnerability / Repairs

It seems to me that that is no longer true. Or perhaps I mistook 'missile still shows on scanner' for 'missile is still targetting me.' If this true, it's good news! It is true. The missile simply flies straight ahead once you cloak. It still exists and is visible normally on the scanner, but it do...

Re: Test Win64 executable - 16bpcc

Thanks Getafix, that was really helpful. Well, it looks like the AMD 530 did not manage to set a 16-bit bpcc buffer. However... AMD cards by default do something that NVidias don't: it's called dithering and is designed to eliminate banding. This should explain why there were no visible banding issu...

Re: Mouse Zeroing Behaviour on Mac

Just downloaded it, and it works pretty well! I click the secondary button, and once it releases the mouse re centres itself. It works over while in flight, and on all the interface screens (centres the cursor.) I don’t want to sound pedantic, however I noticed that the centring occurs once I relea...

Re: Screenshots

Gold Mussuranas were recently mentioned in this discussion, so I thought 'why not?'. Here is the golden Staer9 model, with the new materials system.

Re: Mouse Zeroing Behaviour on Mac

OK, change committed. Please be aware that due to technical reasons it might take a few days for the Mac nightly to be generated. You should keep an eye on the releases of the nightlies repository on github.

Re: Mouse Zeroing Behaviour on Mac

It seems like there is somewhat different handling for the right mouse button on the Mac. Can't test anything without a volunteer though. Would you be willing to try the tomorrow's nightly build if I attempt a fix (or at least try to make it behave like the Windows/Linux port)?

Is this from the Debian repository or from oolite.org? If it iis from the Debian repository, try installing the version from our site.

Re: Test Win64 executable - 16bpcc

Managed to test on an NVidia 960. I noticed that the gamma for the 16 bpcc version was a bit raised compared to the standard 8 bpcc exe. I had to turn the 16bpcc version's gamma down to 0.4 to achieve the same lighting settings that I was getting with the gamma set at 1.0 with the 8 bppc exe. Other ...

Re: Test Win64 executable - 16bpcc

Happy to report Oolite ran fine, no frame drops or anything, I don't think my 460GTS video card could quite manage enough bits as there was some banding on the planets but game still looks amazing anyway! Can confirm that the 460 oculdn't set bit depth to 16 bit. Red, green, blue and componernts ar...

Re: Test Win64 executable - 16bpcc

@Commander_X: Thanks, much appreciated. @Cody: I did a test run with latest trunk and test executable while monitoring GPU performance on the system with the NVidia Quadro and the results were well within what I would consider expected. Normal trunk with 8bpcc was utilizing 17% of the GPU (while fac...

Re: New Jameson here, some initial feedback

What version introduced governments influencing neighbouring systems? and can I download the version before that somewhere? The change was introduced in v1.80. The changelog of that version mentions: Widened the difficulty gap between Corporate States (now safer) and Anarchy (now far more dangerous...

Re: Test Win64 executable - 16bpcc

An early observation: that GTX 770 is now getting maxed-out (97% usage) when facing a planet. I had updated the nVidia drivers to the latest release, so I may have to roll-back to check it ain't them. Or you can run the standard trunk with the drivers you have now and see if the card doesn't max ou...
