Re: David Braben's Elite: Dangerous

Remember that in THIS thread we're talking about Elite Dangerous, not Oolite or even Elite. The scale issues have been given some attention, and metres are metres, not some cobbled variant thereof. Measurements are in metres for the most part, and my measurements are taken from a preview of the offi...

Re: David Braben's Elite: Dangerous

The Elite Dangerous [anaconda], on the other hand is huge. It looks about the length of an Elite Coriolis, since the Sidewinder is still about the same size as in Elite. The Sidewinder in Elite is 35/15/65 ft (10.6/4.5/19.8 m) The new Sidewinder is about the same (15/5/21 m). The big ships ...

Re: Ooliteers Planet - An Interactive Pinmap

Awesome. I noted that someone added their details to it whilst I was porting the existing users over, so my assumption is that it's accessible. Good good. Phew. I hope you understand that LaveCon is currently short one (1) short story and set of minuatures rules thanks to all that shenanigans. Blood...

Re: Ooliteers Planet - An Interactive Pinmap

Update: I've just spent some time copying the details from the old map to the google map. Everyone that was previously registered there has now been migrated across. Once people have had a chance to envision the new hotness (or at least free-ness) of the new location, it might be worth updating the ...

Re: What will humans look like in 100,000 years?

It's meant to, but studies have indicated that cranial size is increasing. That's why our ladyfolk are having so many issues and so much pain giving birth. Other mammals can manage the process without much in the way of pain and strain, where human heads take a lot of effort to come into the world, ...

Re: Ooliteers Planet - An Interactive Pinmap

OK, in order to try and get round this I'm trying Google Maps again. I've created a shared map on my Google Maps account and shared it with THE WORLD!!! http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=212541657986980782678.0004df9873e82f70732ea Give it a try and let me know if you can see it. If so...

Re: What will humans look like in 100,000 years?

I used to respect Discovery. Until they basically turned into a reality show channel. I used to sit for hours watching their documentaries and SCIENCE shows, now they rarely show anything other than "MY SHOCKING STORY: HOW FAT CAN YOU BE AND STILL LIVE!?!?" and "GENERIC SHOW FEATURING PEOPLE DOING B...

Re: David Braben's Elite: Dangerous

Just wanted to mention that Episode 11 of Lave Radio is now live at http://www.laveradio.com

Notable because yours truly is a guest presenter and managed to mention Oolite at least three times... :)

Re: Oolite Ship Re-design

Ooh, controversy! I love the design and the little greeblies all over the hull.

But.

It's not a Krait. It diverges too much from the design for my tastes. :)

Ranthe wrote:(Oh, and I took a look on the wiki for their new Anaconda design... "No sir, I don't like it." It just doesn't feel big enough :-( )
The Anaconda isn't actually that BIG, scalewise. It's only ten metres or so longer than the Cobra 3 is wide...

I'd have to check to be sure...

I thought that was the case...
Players can save private group settings including players to invite to allow quick selection and set up of groups
It might be worth asking for some clarification on it, actually.
