Not so much an enemy race as an enemy sidekick race: Ogrons.

Does the Nestene Consciousness count?
I'll take Ogrons but not Nestene Consciousness, since it's always referred to by both names.

One to go!

Cybermen I will let you decide if it counts or not(Becomes Cyberman when singular)
I count the racial name as Cybermen so that definitely qualifies.

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

OK - since you mention Teaspoons, the big Doctor Who fanfic site is called "A Teaspoon and an Open Mind," so let's have some Dr. Who trivia. Give me five Doctor Who enemy races (from old or new Who, but not things that have only appeared in books, comics, Torchwood, etc.) whose names only contain on...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

Poul Anderson's Time Patrol series.

I've actually got a copy of the Ringworld RPG - it's pretty much unplayable, at least from the GM's point of view. Characters are hundreds of years old with ridiculous skill levels and finding something to challenge them is a total pain.

Farscape 's first manifestation of the "wormhole weapon" (Season 3 Episode 15 - Infinite Possibilities Part 2). That's no. 2 The legend of Archimedes' burning glass https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burning_glass OK, I suppose that counts as a "whatever" - no. 3 In the RPG Traveller , the Darrian Confe...

Final Fantasy? Doesn't sound like Science Fiction to me. But that's a cool bit of video, so unless someone feels deeply offended I'll accept it!

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

OK, let's see if anyone can come up with five stories / films / whatevers in which a sun is weaponized in some way. No two from the same canon, as usual.

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

Erotia, American settlement on Venus in Parasite Planet by Stanley G. Weinbaum. Several other cities on solar system worlds in Weinbaum's stories, but I'm assuming the usual "one per author / canon" rule. Hong Kong Luna, city on the moon in The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein. Port Lo...

In which anime/manga can you see a microwave and a mobile phone used to send emails in the past?

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

I'll accept Virtuosity - the reveal of a virtual world was the sort of thing I was looking for. Tron is a bit marginal because as you say it's apparent to the audience from the outset what's happening when they enter the virtual world. The one I sort of expected to see was Counterfeit World by Danie...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

Truman Show and The Island - both iffy, because neither is a virtual world as such - they're managed man-made worlds based on big lies, but not virtual as such. Maul , definitely. Let's say that between them Truman Show and The Island count as one answer, given their similarities. One to go.

The 13th Floor An entire season of Yu-Gi-Oh was set in a virtual world as well(But I don't think Yu-Gi-Oh will count as Sci Fi) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thirteenth_Floor definitely qualifies going by the plot summary. Yu-Gi-Oh really seems to be more fantasy than SF, so I think I'm going t...

Sector 12 hospital station is the setting for James White's Sector General novels, a bit old-style now but a lot of fun. OK, I appear to be setting the next question... Let's see... Let's have five SF stories / films / whatever where the big surprise is that the story is set in a virtual world. The ...
