Re: Science Fiction Trivia
Oops... When will I learn not to give the last answer? OK. One of my favourite add-ons for Oolite is Liners, because the big ships look extremely cool and can be a lot more interesting than asteroids. So let's have five SF stories - films, books, short stories, comics, TV etc. - where a significant ...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia
I read the question as ruling out stuff before 1950, since there wasn't usually the option of TV between radio and film. It has to be stuff where the possibility exists.

Re: Metal Monolith
I wonder if anyone checked the top to see if there's anything up there like a maker's logo or a timer slowly counting down. Is it hollow or solid metal? And what metal? Much later - turns out to be hollow and made of riveted stainless steel, which makes it somewhat less likely to be an alien artifac...

Re: 1984 Elite Historical Research
I think you're underestimating the complexity of the final publishing process - DTP wasn't very advanced, and page layout was mostly done by horrendously complicated markup languages, a very skilled job. I was writing for White Dwarf at that point and when I visited their offices they were still usi...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia
10 must be captain planet and the planeteers. Or alternatively Captain Caveman and the Teenangels, but that has a poor claim to be scifi. Unfortunately neither of those is correct, wrong number of words and the use of an & rather than "and" in the clue is deliberate since it's written that way in t...
