Re: Argh, the joy of testing OXPs
There are "yellow alerts", not critical "red alerts". There are no fatal flaws in these old OXPs - just obsolete ways of using properties (in this case seems obsolete way of processing TL 99 setting to define equipment TL using script). I'll disagree with recommendation "just ignore it". At least, y...

Re: Metafiction: Dialogues on the Lore of Xlite
Nice comment, Nite Owl! I like your approach. Hardcoded game mechanics is like laws of physics in real reality - it determines what you CAN do and what you CAN'T do. So if you have game sequel with radically rewritten game mechanics it will be separate universe with it's own fundamental rules despit...

Nice!
It is very good news about air_density property in next game release, thank you!
And is it planned to realize new planet properties using JavaScript in 1.92 release? It will be good to have instrument for smart planet appearance selection.

Re: Habitable Main Planets
Does new legend refer to new Oolite lore? Or some sort of labelling system inside the Oolite programme? What is this different story ? I have OXP with redefined economic rules. Presented only in Roolite community yet. I feel it will be good indeed to officially present it in the nearest future. Ool...

It seems unintentional, but realistic scenario, amigo!

Re: Habitable Main Planets
In resent 1.6.0 update I fixed cosmetic issue with planets having forest in description. In some cases planets with "vast dense forests" or "rain forests" looks like arid planets. Now such arid planets reclassified as having temperate humidity and has green continents instead yellow with greenish ti...

Re: Famous Planets Overhaul: Zaonce
Version 0.2.0 - swapping red and green channels and inversion only green channel. Evidently inversion of red channel in version 0.1.0 was bad decision. I was fooled by regular ripples. There is stiil odd shadow orientation near terminator (may be due to regular ripples again), but I hope this...

Re: Famous Planets Overhaul: Zaonce
Very cool Earth-like, compliments. Is the lack of clouds over land deliberate? Thank you! Yes, after adding cloud layer (Screen overlay mode) I reduced cloud transparency over ocean to 0.75 and over land to 0.5 or so. I'm disappointed by look of clouds over continents - it has greenish tint, so I d...

Famous Planets Overhaul: Zaonce
FPO Zaonce Actual version: 0.2.0 Uploaded 05 Dec 2020 The Galactic Register called Zaonce a tedious place. They didn't correct it in later issues. Zaonce is actually one of the best-guarded, fun-packed secrets of Galaxy 1. Tourists will find attractions like the monstrous Hurricane Kev, dominating ...

Re: Why NPCs don't make any sound ?
But you can accelerate and decelerate without expending any reaction mass. In my head, the ship doesn't actually move at all: it grabs the fabric of spacetime and pulls it through the engine. Exact! This is lore consistent explanation of ship movement in Oolite without ejecting reaction mass. Pheno...

Re: Why NPCs don't make any sound ?
Oolite is totally (and deliberately) unrealistic. Even leaving wormholes aside, the ships disobey all known models of physics. They have reactionless thrust: turn on the engine, and off you go: no fuel is consumed, no reaction mass is expended. And if you drive your ship in one direction indefinite...

@ Redspear No need to excuse. Hope I understand you position. Yes, I prefer to use known scientific laws as reference point and guideline. I have no idea how to work with unknown scientific laws. :D And yes, if I can't understand something on some level I'll find it unsatisfactory. Personally for me...
