Re: Metafiction: Dialogues on the Lore of Xlite

Private companies are … not good with networks. They might try to set up something like this on high-traffic routes but no corporation is going to provide links to all the worlds. And you're sending something in to a system - which will then have to refuel in order to get back again, so either it s...

Re: Metafiction: Dialogues on the Lore of Xlite

That's based on our current, speculative understanding of wormholes, right? What if that understanding is not quite correct? Our current, speculative understanding of wormholes is definitely NOT correct. It is just hypothetical possibility based on General relativity concepts. Honestly, I have no i...

Re: Hard Way

I noticed that the Warp Drive script initializes variables in startUp that could change at other times, for example service level or other configurations (if using Ship Configuration). I suggest moving all of the code currently in the startUp handler to shipWillLaunchFromStation. Sorry for long del...

Re: Metafiction: Dialogues on the Lore of Xlite

Is it so hard to imagine because it directly contradicts something you know? Ironically, my assumption of giant stable wormhole in witchspace is more exotic than Cody's original SMBH in true space. :D I have no any preconceived opinion about witchspace because I nave no any knowledge about this mat...

Re: Metafiction: Dialogues on the Lore of Xlite

Who would pay for all this? You want a wormhole, buddy, you can open it yourself … Or join free traders association independent from Galcop bureaucracy. If you refuse to give us safe traffic network - well, we'll create it without your assistance. Seems that private companies dealing with this issu...

Re: Metafiction: Dialogues on the Lore of Xlite

Eight globular clusters co-orbiting a dormant SMBH, the proximity of which dictates how one can travel between octants. It is hard to imagine such arrangement in common space - SMBH must be extremely huge to prevent ripping stellar clusters with tidal forces. But if we assume fast spinning SMBH wit...

Re: Metafiction: Dialogues on the Lore of Xlite

Personally I prefer to interpret maps as Galaxy regions, not galaxies. Maybe parts of spiral arm(s). One-way Galactic Hyperdrive travel is enigmatic. I have no idea yet how to interpret it in lore consistent terms. The most enigmatic part of Xlite lore for me is mechanism of interstellar travel. You...

Re: Moons

Moon texture pack updated to Oolite 1.90 lighting model. The same issue as in Planetary Systems Rexture Pack set - textures, processed for Oolite 1.8X, looks too bright in Oolite 1.90.

P.S. Thank you, maik, for quick response with fixing EliteWiki functionality!

Re: The All-in-One Guide to OXZ Packaging and Distribution

I need some hints. Trying to upload updated MoonsTexturePack.oxz today and get this warning: Upload warning The file you uploaded seems to be empty. This might be due to a typo in the filename. Please check whether you really want to upload this file. Moreover, trying to visit page wit already uploa...

Re: Planetary Systems

There is issue with new lighting model in Oolite 1.90. Old planet and moon textures looks too bright.
Planetary Systems Texture Pack A...H readjusted to Oolite 1.90.
The same issue with moon textures will be fixed soon.

Welcome to dark side of Ooniverse, comrade!

You can also declare your ships available as additional start scenario(s). Look at spara's Start Choices and my Start Choice Addenda to get idea.

As far as I remember target is marked as bounty, so other NPCs can destroy it before you are find it. Mission is failed in this case. Time is critical.

Re: Units of Measurement

Either way the only measurement that really matters with longer distances is time. Regardless of how far you may be away from your destination, or what that distance may be called, the only real matter involved with long distances is "how long will it take me to get there". Bingo! In real reality k...
