Re: Sound Absent

For the add-ons case, could it be that you are using a symbolic link "AddOns" to point to an actual AddOns folder? We had a case, sometime in the past (not pointing fingers here! :) ), where add-ons could not be detected because oolite installation is replacing the symbolic link AddOns by an actual...

Re: Sound Absent

Well, I'm back with even weirder news. First, I have reached the conclusion that my GeForce card is bad. However, the on-board graphics are amazing in itself, so Oolite should be a cinch. There's only a couple of problems. Not only do I now have no sound in the game, but the game is no longer detect...

Re: Sound Absent

I will take your advice in a day or two. I have installed the GeForce card, after receiving the software from the builder, and loaded Windows on the other drive. Only problem is that Micro#$^@$#^ doesn't like the driver. Not even the one from the NVidea site. The card is not set up right, so my Linu...

Re: Sound Absent

Wow.. I didn't know anyone was still using SB Live cards.. Given the motherboard needed to handle those CPUs, etc, I'd have thought the onboard sound would be better than anything a SoundBlaster could produce.. I think we're missing something here.. what is the make and model of the motherb...

Re: Sound Absent

And I'd also double-check the .ogg files are actually there (go look using Nautilus or your file browser of choice). If so try playing them manually (outside the game) to confirm that they are installed correctly and haven't been corrupted somewhere along the line. Also did you completely uninstall...

[Solved] Sound Absent

I just put a new semi-gaming computer down in my shop area. It has two 3.5GHz processors, 4GBs RAM, and other good stuff. I'm running Linux Mint Mate 16 64bit on it. When I downloaded, and installed Oolite 1.77.1 64bit, the graphics were very jittery, but the sound was fine. So I decided to uninstal...

or in plain English:

all four instances of "EQ_FUEL_SCOOP" in Config/shipyard.plist should be "EQ_FUEL_SCOOPS"

Cheers.
Noted, and repaired. Thanks for the heads up. Thanks for such a kindly way of helping. :P

[RELEASE]FrizbeeV1.0

The Frizbee is a disk shaped ship, often referred to as a "flying saucer". It has Beam Lasers, stock, pointing out from all four possible laser positions, and a missile tube. It also sports the oh so fashionable fuel scoop. It's just a big, circular trade ship, that carries a pretty good load of goo...

Re: [RELEASE]adeShadowV1.0.oxp

I have had to make a correction in the shipyard.plist for this ship. I forgot to give it a chance designation for availability. I apologize to those that have already downloaded this ship. If you don't wish to hassle with deleting the version you have, and downloading the corrected version, simply o...

Re: [RELEASE]adeShadowV1.0.oxp

Yeah, I'm familiar with that. I even used it to a much greater extant when making the Comet. In was the only way to really round off that front globe section, not to mention the smaller barrel sections. Maybe I'll try using subdivisions more in my next project. Thanks Griff. :D

Re: [RELEASE]adeShadowV1.0.oxp

nice work mandoman, that looks like a really complex ship design to model and it looks like you've managed it fantastically well! Thanks, Griff. I'm afraid it might be an eye sore to the "Quads to Tris" guys. I tried doing that, and when I unwrapped the thing for texturing, it was such a pile of sp...

I am sure it must not have been easy to get the rounded shape into a decent form, that's why I only do flatties. :D, Great stuff, keep it up.
Thanks, dertien. I bet you could do it too. You just have to dive in and experiment. It's not easy, but anything good never is. :)

[RELEASE]adeShadowV1.0.oxp

The Jade Shadow is a ship out of the ongoing Star Wars post movie book series. I take no credit for the design of this ship, or it's concept. This oxp is simply my attempt to create a version of the ship for the game Oolite. The ship is named after it's original owner, Mara jade. One time assasine f...

Re: MandoTech Industries, Inc.

No, I don't think it's quite as big as an Anaconda. Anaconda measures 170m long, while the JadeShadow is about 150ms. The JadeShadow does out do it in width, with 86ms, compared to the Anaconda's 75m width. Once again, though, the Anaconda is taller than the JadeShadow, at 60ms, to 33ms. I would put...
