Safety switch for weapons?

I know that something similar has been suggested before... tonight I was getting myself into position to dock, using keyboard control. Got distracted by my better half, then looked back at screen and saw the station approaching fast. I hit the 's' key to slow down but... ...two minutes later I'm a f...

I've got a significant problem (well at least until next year when I get a bonus from work) - my wife's laptop is of a much higher spec than mine. She does interior design and way back when, I went about speccing up her machine to be able to run CAD programs smoothly - so I specced up a games machin...

Crash when entering hyperspace

Hi guys, I've started seeing this behaviour only in the last week or two...and odds are it's a Linux issue than an Oolite issue... I'm running 1.74.2 on Debian with Gnome 2.22.3. When I'm playing in full screen mode (is there any other way) and jump to witchspace (i.e. 'h' key), the countdown comple...

Yeah, thanks for giving me an excuse to bunk off at work. I'm always keeping this forum open now!

Ganelon, what you're suggesting is very similar to some thoughts that I have had. I remember reading of a huge effort being put into the Tionsila orbital graveyard. I was thinking it would be great to 'adopt' a system and put in tourist attractions.... On a related topic...is there any sort of "Hell...

It's ok, i took a red pill last night and I'm feeling all better now.

I agree, we don't want to get all Simms on this.

The nearest thing we want for a religion in Oolite is the Black Monks.

A moment of existential angst

I'm currently carrying out a couple of passenger runs in G2, leaving Argezabe (I like earthquakes and cats, although don't call them that - their claws are quite sharp). I suddenly realised as I spun out of dock - I don't eat! Perhaps I'm a thief - I grab a few sandwiches out of the food containers ...

I think the scanner actually shows the scoopable stuff qutite well, especially when zoomed. Even if this were posible, Im not sure that it would really help to illuminate small objects, I think they tend to be pretty well lit by the sun anyway so Im not too sure that you would see much of a differe...

OXP Equipment suggestion / request - spotlights

For when you find yourself in a low light system, and you've just obliterated a fat juicy Python, and there's lots of cargo canisters floating around, only you can't see them until you're right on top of them. I'd envisage the spotlights to be multiple visible light lasers that shine on the availabl...

Re: Cheating!

... running away and firing out of the back of your ship... I'll confess to using that strategy as a technique to better the odds when I'm outnumbered. I've got to admit that I've wondered why a faster ship sits at about 12km aft and lets me snipe at it with my Mil laser. And not that I'm complaini...

Although my computer would totally choke on this, It would be great to see a collection of dockable objects in the 'outer suburbs' all lined up like the Vegas casino strip...casino, con-store, Monks, science station (allows you to buy high tech objects at low tech systems...i don't know, I just made...

Welcome!
