Oolite v1.65 now available

Version 1.65 incorporates an improved collision engine, new equipment and graphics, and many improvements to gameplay.

Oolite v1.65 is a Universal Binary compatible with Mac OS X 10.3.9 and Intel based Macs, a minimum spec of a 500Mhz G4 with 256Mb memory is recommended, although some slower machines may still run it acceptably.

Compiled from much of the same code, GNU/Linux and Windows XP versions of Oolite v1.65 are expected to be released within the week.


Main changes since v1.62

• High resolution collision detection.
• More new equipment for players to add to their ships.
• External views of the player's ship.
• Scooped escape pods now pay rewards and ransoms for their rescue.
• Many enhancements to the graphics, explosions and data screens.
• Improvements to the intelligence of AI opponents and expanded scripting.
• Many bugfixes and improvements to gameplay.
