Hi,
Had a bit of a search but could find no info on this. I recently found a planet with cheaper ship prices eg Cob3 135K. It seemed to still give me same trade in value on my ship, unfortunately tech level was 6 so can't get the ships I want there. Is there supposed to be a difference in ship prices at different planets? I know shipyards can be cheaper. I returned to the planet later and same price.
What other things affect ship prices?
Cheers

PS realy enjoying the game and oxp's, it was over 20 years ago I got elite for christmas on my Amstrad C464! Forums and wiki superbly helpful and friendly also. No much time to play though!

I don't know the full list of factors, but I do know that the extra systems added to a ship will increase the price, and your trade-in value drops the longer it has been since you last did an overhaul.

Yes, there are differences.
There is a random factor, and it depends on tech level. High tech stuff costs more at low tech systems.
There are also, depending on OXPs, cheaper "rusty" ships.

& don't forget the trade in value of your old ship depends upon how long ago it was serviced...
