[RELEASE] - Z GrOovy SML System stations (thx Griff!)

Right, here goes ladies and gentlemen:

*** Z-GrOovY paintshed (Ze Griff's Ooniversal vinYl paintshed) presents ***

Z_GrOovy_SML-Systemstations_1.0.oxp {CREATED} 17-Mar-2012 (Small Medium Large systemstations)


*** Contents ***

This addon is based on Griff's excellent griff_coriolis_normalmapped_alt_v2.0.oxp. It will add new Tetrahedron and Octahedron stations to systems according to production quota with the same ruleset as Z grOovy System stations V1.

In short it means:

- GBP 7000 and above (New Coriolis Station - example system: Lave)
- GBP 6999 - 4032 (Octahedron Outposts - example system: Reorte)
- GBP below 4032 (Tetrahedron Depots - example system Riedquat)

Since I worked with Griff's textures, I aligned them to the new stations as good as I could, and they don't look too shabby in my opinion.

*** Dependables/Requirements ***

Has been tested and Works with Oolite 1.76

WARNING: griff_coriolis_normalmapped_alt_v2.0.oxp is required since it borrows textures to this oxp : http://deephorizonindustries.com/griffi ... t_v2.0.zip

- Recommended:

*** Notes ***

Looks at its best with shaders set to full of course, but will look good also with half and no shader support (at least on my GPU. I have an NVIDIA GT 630 M)

*** Installation ***

Drag and drop the OXP into your AddOns folder of Oolite in addition to the required oxp's

*** Legal bollox ***

This oxp is free to use, distribute, edit or alter as you see fit without my permission. It can not be used in any commercial product and cannot be sold. It is free software and should only cost you download time. I am not in any way liable if your break your Oolite installation using this oxp. Use at your own risk. I have successfully tested it and it works 4 me.

I'm not sure I'd want all Coriolis stations replaced - they're inherently "Eliteish" - couldn't they go into a pool of stations to be drawn from so that sometimes you get a Coriolis and sometimes an Ico? There are supposed to be scores of stations around some planets after all - so there's bound to be a mixture.

No, don't worry, they're not supposed to do that in the final version, this is just a beta release to test out how it looks like, the Coriolis that griff made will be in the pack. I just opted for an easy swap, so you could all have a view at the station itself.

Looking luvverly. Will look good in Freelancer when i get hold of these, converted all the others you did ages ago and those look cool as hell :) Just converted Griff's Dodo station and that looks awesome as well

While I am waiting with baited breath for the Icosahedron stations to debut. I find that I am left with the trunk Ico station , which don't half let the side down a bit in the grand scheme of the game...

I know that these things take time , given the meticulous detail and shaders involved in producing .

With this in mind I have been looking around for a stand alone Ico retexture oxp just to use as a stop gap while I wait patiently for the set's completion and don't seem to be able to find one on the Wiki OXP list.

I was wondering then..If one of you experienced modelers and OXP writers have in your back catalogue such an OXP.

My Ooniverse is almost completely Griff’ed, but the core Ico station was an immersion-breaker for me.
As a temporary measure, I replaced all Icos with [EliteWiki] Torus stations, which fit-in a lot better (and I get to fly through more Torus stations as a result).

The Torus OXP replaces about 40 stations (mostly Icos). You can tweak it to replace all Icos by adding a shipdata-overrides.plist to the Config folder of the Torus OXP:
