IIRC, back in march someone here was doing work on an OXP that made a huge single system that you moved around in using jumpgates. I forget who this was or where; can somebody post a link to a thread about it please?

I cannot find the actual link right now, but I believe the author of what you are describing was Frame. You may be lucky if you try a search for his posts.

Try the obvious, type jumpgate in above search and you will find the thread by Frame.

I'm still working on it now and then...

So far I figured, how to show extra planet data on a mission screen, but by using a combination of short/long range map, and system info map..

Made a solution in regard to that you can now time accelerate to another far of planet. once the player reaches the vicinity of the far of system (vicinity 7000000 meters about the range where the precision problems start to show...

Trader re-routing in regard to planets...

System handling of new planets economy & government & with random inhabitants , firefly style systems. Inner planets, most stable, outer planets most unstable..

still missing

Missing a planet description generator:thinking of ripping of Oolites way, which I have not looked into yet

System specific procedural generation of the amount of extra planets and their types..

And btw the concept releases never did expand any system by more than 1 planet with a station and jumpgate, and the planet was a yellow gas gaint each time. And it is still buggy if I recall right..

When I eventually get it together, it will come with its own way of saving a game at the generated stations, rather than releying on save anywhere to take care of that.. since we do alot of system manipulation..

Very cool to hear you're still at it! :D

Hoping to see complete solar systems in my game soonish ... :shock:

The idea with the time acceleration sounds really fine - let no one mention the F-word at that!

while its generation is broken, it will show the switching of
data between planet 1 Lave and planet IV.

Lave IV because the first 3 2 planets are system redux planets..
only the third and only one is the Solar system OXP one
