When S2 passed by the black hole at a distance just 120 times that of the Earth from the Sun, it reached an astonishing orbital velocity of 8,000 km/s. That corresponds to about 2.7% of the speed of light.
That is shifting!

I believe I remarked earlier this year how civilisation may have jumped the shark …
Three thieves stole a shark from an aquarium by removing it from a tank and disguising it as a baby in a pushchair

An update to this story:
Creature returned safely after police receive tip-offs about bright orange getaway vehicle
The shark, by the way, is called Helen.

MPs who bring prostitutes into parliament will face the sack under Westminster’s first code of conduct
How odd that they would make a specific rule for this … I don't think I've ever worked anywhere that felt it necessary to explicitly state "no prostitutes in the workplace".

Ha! Next you'll be telling me the motor industry wants protection from diesel fumes!

Also, quantum computing will never work because you can't turn it off and on again as it's not on or off.

The British alternative to the Galileo satellite system will be called Ptolemy, because everything revolves around us.

Talking of water...
A US restaurant is using marijuana to sedate lobsters before killing them.
That's alright then... they still drop the poor critters into boiling water, but at least they're stoned!

Lobster: Hey... look at all the cool bubbles. Is it getting warm in here?
Me: Tasty Lobster but why is it winking at me?
