Unbelievable what you can do on a phone nowadays.

Nah. They've had this sort of stuff since the 70s – you're just not remembering it right is all ...

I love that slogan on the HiFi thing.
"Like a party in your pocket. But not in a weird way."
Priceless :D

I love the other slogan even more: "Stop missing calls. Start interrupting movies."

For those who still don't believe that time travellers are among us, back then (eh?), there are more "Alt/1977" gizmos here.

Well I only recently had to replace my ageing Nokia (Calls and SMS only). The new one has a 2M pixel camera. It was pointed out to me this comes into its own after road accidents that are not your fault. Many try to wriggle out or at least get a 50/50 (affecting your NCB). Don't see the point in anything else. Ebay is great for this kind of thing (paid £20 for mine). Always been PAYG.

Love the names of the games in the post above. Place Invaders :)

There is that.

I've taken to keeping a cheap digital camera handy when riding the motorcycle or the recumbent, just in case a driver does something stupid. And in my neck of the woods, you can count on them doing something stupid. The photos I shot this month alone of idiots driving stupidly can fill a couple of albums.

My car was rammed last year by a moron that ironically enough, was yakking away on a phone. Her excuse (read, attempt to wiggle out of it) was that she 'didn't see me'. Uh-huh, like watching the road was too difficult? No wonder the insurance rates are going up like a Saturn V rocket.

For the record, I have a rule for myself. If the tires are on the blacktop, then the phone is switched off, no exceptions. I'm too busy dodging blind drivers to bother answering phone calls.

I was crossing the street last year when a girl, could be no older than 17, tried to negotiate a turn into the road using one hand as she was talking on the phone, ploughed into me at the breakneck speed of about 5 mph. It was surreal, she was going so slowly and looking directly at me but she just did not stop. Luckily I'm relatively fit and I jumped up on to her bonnet and off the side. If I had been elderly or infirm I think her world would have come crashing down around her; I managed to retain my sense of humour but I did give her a bit of a lecture. She did seem more worried about the foot sized dent I left in her car though.

Ah, to be young again.
