Re: Licensing OXPs

Docking Fee's images worked on my Mac. But when I dissected Docking Fees I could find nothing obvious that put them on the screen of my Mac. So once again, I find myself in the coding quagmire, whose level is now over my head! Which docking fees are we talking about? Layne's Docking Fees Version 1....

Re: IronHide OXP

Ditto by the way for the Cargo Expansion in the Vanilla game. I would have expected a much longer period of time to muck about with the insides of my cobra, moving the bulkheads, rearranging the wiring etc . It's mainly physical "grunt-work" which is why it only needs TL2 to do! If there ...

Re: Licensing OXPs

Thank you. At least you seem to understand this quagmire! What if I were to produce a "HDBG B" .oxp licensed as the v. 3.0 of that (to try and make life a little easier)? Im not 100% sure what you are trying to achieve. Can you not simply create your OXP (or version of OXP) and license it...

Re: Licensing OXPs

ShareAlike — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original. So depending whether you are "building upon" which it sounds like you are, then you must use the following, because its what the rest of HDBG is...

Re: BigSur and Oolite

If we can create the infrastructure to have scenarios repeated and verified in an automated fashion, some of them can be created for Oolite itself and then for extensions wherever need be. Over time these could act as regression tests. And since Oolite and the OXPs run on different platforms, the w...

Re: BigSur and Oolite

This sounds like heavy lifting. However if that piece of work were written down onto a roadmap, with enough hints what to look for and a way to verify successful operation I think it could be done by people interested and having knowledge in JavaScript and Objective-C integration but no need to und...

Re: Quote of the week!

I think you have the wrong targets for concern, BigPharma loves this stuff, who do you think is selling it? Just like homeopathy etc, look behind the label and you see its our old friends raking in the cash. FWIW its the same with renewable energy, its largely run by Big Oil but lots of nice green l...

Re: Oolite Multiplayer? Please read

It would, I think, be relatively easy to have each world gradually replenish its export goods and have the level drop semi randomly when a ship launches, perhaps even assigning the npc the cargo it just bought. Maybe even tie this in with shuttles bringing the goods up from the surface. I dont see h...

Re: Deciphering Javascipt/Legacy Script

Unless you are planning to learn javascript, you can just accept that "well written javascript generaly has use strict at the top". It is more or less a signal to the javascript system that the javascript contained has to be valid. The commodities info is detailed here: http://wiki.alioth....

FROOMB! is from a 1960s novel
ELE is from a 1990s film
UNEXA is from a long series of juvenile novels published over a span of more than 20 years.
If I remember ELE is from on of the astroid diaster movies (maybe called asteroid?) and it was something like Estinguising Life Event.

Re: Government Types (anarchy/corporate state etc)

Every member nation of the UN knows that North Korea is a grotesque military dictatorship under a vague gloss of communist rhetoric - but the label on their seat still says "Democratic People's Republic of North Korea". I think you are confusing country name and political system. The labe...

Re: Oolite Multiplayer? Please read

I don't know if anyone said it yet (I don't have time to look at 14 pages of posts) but how about LAN multiplayer? I think is should be easier to make, one player can be the server and the other the client, coding coding, blah blah blah, Done! LAN network game! I think the easiest would be to someh...
